Depending on the project, the right kind of location can warrant a location fee from £500 a day to £2,500+. Naturally, the greater the impact from the film crew, the higher the fee. For example, we have used someone's garden for an hour in one case and we paid them a £100 for the pleasure. On the other extreme, we have moved a family out of their home, re-housed them for several weeks, redecorated, filmed, and put everything back the way it was, and the fee was £30,000+. So, it really does all depend on the circumstances.

The majority of our property owners are seasoned film locations. They know what to expect. However, for anyone who is going down this route for the first time, you should react assure that nothing happens until all the details for the filming are confirmed in a contract (along with the fee). So you could say 'no' at any stage.

That said, a good location owner is always one who's flexible and patient. Sadly we work in an environment where change is an all too frequent occurrence. Naturally, as location managers, we aim to liaise with you and pass on the correct information to the best of our ability. But script changes do happen.

And what do you have to do? Well, to be honest, nothing. The film crew's location manager will do everything for you. That's what they get paid for. They will talk you through the process, step by step. And all being well, there should be very few, if any, surprises.

So how do you have filming in your property? Quite simply, register with a film location library like us. Send an email to info@wearefind.com with your details, a few pictures, and we can talk you through the registration process. We would ask you for some specific photographs, and depending on the property, may send one of our photographers to take some for us, free of charge!

Your property would be visible on line via our database, and will be give a unique reference number. No personal details are ever published.

You would then sign an agreement with us that allows us to market your property, and thats it. Done.
